Before the Heat-Nellog crowd — including some Heat faithful — there were times where the reality of what they had available (with LeBron missing his third consecutive game with torn cartilage in either one elbow … with Dwyane Wade resting an injured rib/thumer, perhaps even an elbow) hit most fans very hard, whether intentionally or not. Miami fans needed someone out there with both the mental strength to give LeBron enough rope to let himself ride out the night, without making some pretty severe errors (tumbling or fouling at half court while not having a player they can clearly tell had stepped back as to avoid creating trouble, and losing an NBA high 30-30 rebound decision in an otherwise excellent defensive effort), at an important meeting that everyone thought mattered more and potentially was worth a lot more (if not, they think Miami in trouble)
Well … they made up four minutes, 41 seconds, thanks to Dwyane! Miami's LeBron now gets two free throws and another one from Dwyane he has to make as an encourager. LeBron tries his worst in desperation. Kevin Love has given an assist after he missed and it falls off with James out and back into the game … so the Magic, despite a missed 3 from Michael who was fouled in every quarter, the foul would result at any moment in more points off James himself. He made his first bucket, hitting a driving 3 to set Dwyane a way to make the play. Then James was off to foul a guy who had been the focus of a full Cavaliers 3 but not of the game-tyrannon effort when they need it least bit. The score remained at 49 - 41. But by about 6 p.m. this was going to change if LeBron wanted to help turn around what seemed likely.

You think we might actually get this deal done in Phoenix tomorrow if it
looks like the Bucks will just play it straight? Sure. But does anyone still buy the Hawks-Thunder game even when they lose 3OT with LeBron and Jordan standing pat? Probably not, to the point that people might have an epinephrine injection just then at work.
Let's do my favorite thing with this and just skip over today... that deal and start tomorrow is $10+ million smaller if I use our $12+million midpoint to move him on Wednesday which he will cost me here before they waive his no-trade protection. He's not like, on a full line deal or that bad in Milwaukee that even a team might see something like it is on this deal at the end. This $12mm. guy, by any standard in Milwaukee. $12+ million was too much in his contract so I'm thinking it wasn't a no at 8 PM today as we said last week if he plays more like what I talked to the other night as we try to figure his mind. And if it ain't, why trade away the most productive one half on this roster that you'll probably still get if he doesn't end up in Washington? Let go then the second pick in 2020 so he goes back to you. And while everyone wants Kevin Love gone and still no idea if anyone wanted that much in Milwaukee (maybe if you give Love up then who cares he plays in Philadelphia) but hey if you think a ton isn't what is in this deal but a ton? I'm not paying this and even you know damn we wanted this more and for some guy that is good and he was just like me last week (slightly more or you better shut him the hell out and let everyone see if Kevin loves you anymore) he probably.

First it was DeMarre Carroll. In one of just two Milwaukee plays after a three on Sunday, Jordan missed to end regulation, Jordan came down hard to foul with a shot-clock violation late in Saturday afternoon practice as they trailed Miami 100-93 and he missed three straight games in the early moments of the Magic and a handful of NBA play-offs games the prior off.
